Some of you may have heard about the study that came out recently which said that born-again evangelicals have a smaller brain size. This study was done on a couple hundred people and it showed that mainline Protestants have a larger brain size than Catholics, evangelicals, or unbelievers. But that is probably not at all the impression you got if you read the headlines in the media announcing this little bit of research.
Mollie Ziegler Hemingway over at GetReligion.org critiques the way in which the media has covered this study. She notes that the headlines focused almost entirely upon evangelicals, and some even got the impression that it showed that unbelievers are smarter than believers.
