Although you’d have to admit the Tennessee team they faced wasn’t one they had seen on film. No one had seen it…..ever. On this side of the ball we’re wondering if it will show up again. Alabama in two weeks would be a good time for them to.

Ray “Banana” Comfort, Kirk “Buck” Cameron, and The Banana — the most famous unintentional “Ambiguously Gay Duo” act this side of LaHaye & Jenkins’ Author Self-Inserts in Left Behind!

Regarding Cameron himself, Slacktivist had some comments on his acting career & on-set behavior some months ago. How he requires his RL wife as stand-in for all kissing scenes “to not commit adultery” and how he barricaded himself in his trailer/greenroom to avoid contamination on the set when he discovered there were “heathens” on the movie crew, leaving it only to actually shoot the scenes.

Slack theorized this behavior was caused by his conversion experience/involvement in a church that defined “holiness” entirely by NEGATIVEs, i.e. that Holiness (and your salvation) was defined entirely by “Thou Shalt Nots”. If the only way to be “Godly” is to keep your nose squeaky-clean from any & all possible contamination, you’d would expect bizarre/rejecting behavior like Cameron’s.

Have you seen Expelled Joe? There was a professor who ended up dying of cancer by the time the movie was released who’d been interviewed in the “documentary” whose story sounds pretty similar to your Charlotte.

Needing to chime in here also. In my humble opinion firing Mark Richt is beyond belief. Not a national championship coach? I disagree. It was he who kept FSU alive at the top 10, due to his Offensive plays. When he left for UGA, look what happened to FSU, down they went and have been down since.

Let’s look at the overall picture here. First, the Offense. When Richt took over at UGA, he was calling the plays from the sidelines and coaching the QBs. When Mike Bobo took over the Offensive Coordinator and QBs coach position, UGA started to choke a bit. It was Richt’s coaching and play calling that gave David Greene his success. Maybe we need to look in that direction.

As far as the running backs are concerned, Caleb King is a great North-South running back as is Samuel, but those kind of backs only are as good as the Offensive line, since it is those guys who are responsible for opening up the holes for North-South runners to break into the secondary. Get that resolved and you open up the passing game as well.

Now let’s look at the Deffense. Martinez is a great Defensive Coordinator, however, it seems that what is lacking on defense is passing defense Maybe the Defensive Backs coach needs a looking over.

The last area is injuries. Now football is rough and injuries will happen, but it seems that every year, since I can remember even before Richt, UGA has been hit with more injuries in the season then normal. Maybe the Strength and Conditioning Coach and staff needs a looking over.

That’s just a starter, I’m sure I can spend much more time detailing certain things that need adjusting, but I think you already know where I’m going with this. So as for me keep Mark Richt and start changing other things, mainly the “good-ole-boy” situation that may be responsible for keeping some of these sub-par coaches and staff on board.

I am not used to much liturgy, as it is called, but I think God loves variety because he can use it to reach more people. Let’s face it, some of the things we do in the church, whether liturgical or evangelical, are not really in the Bible and are man-made methodologies. But that doesn’t mean that it is un-Biblical or anti-Biblical. I think that God allows a wide range of methodology to help as many people come to Him as possible. For some the liturgical methodology appeals to them and as long as it gets them to Christ, more power to them. For some the evangelical style appeals to them and as long as it gets them to Christ, more power to them. Neither is right or wrong, as long as it doesn’t violate the Word of God or distract folks from really coming to Christ.
